The Minister in charge of the Gomoa Akropong branch of the Holy Church of Bethlehem, Rev. Isaac Ansah has advocated for the direct involvement of members of the Clergy as well as traditional rulers in the governance system of the country, to help erode the canker of corruption that has bedevilled the nation.
It is a well noted fact that traditional rulers and members of the Clergy in the country are excluded from engaging in active partisan politics, but are expected to share their view on issues pertaining to the development and well-being of the people.
But this position, according to Rev. Ansah does not give members of the Clergy and traditional rulers enough room to actively share their view and participate in the practice of democracy in the country.
He said when allowed to actively participate in the governance system in the country, traditional rulers and members of the Clergy will ensure that corruption will be made away with, and transparency and accountability will be promoted.
He stressed that the absence of these two institutions in the governance system in the country has contributed to the situation where dishonesty and disloyalty has become the order of the day in the country.
