Bukom Banku and Bastie Samir have come out to declare that there is no juju in their epic boxing match on Saturday, 21 October.
“Juju is not used in boxing” said Banku, adding that were there juju in boxing, Indians, Togolese, Beninous, Nigerians and Senegalese would have been the best boxers in the world.
According to Bukom Banku, Bastie Samir was a better athlete in the ring on Saturday, adding that he has learnt his lessons and will call for a rematch.
“I’ve been beaten and I accept my defeat”, he said.
Bastie Samir floored Banku in the seventh round of the match. He also told the media he never uses juju, but he listened to his coach, and his corner did a good work on him to come out after losing the first five rounds, except the third round that he dropped the Bukom star.
He said the warrior dressing he put up was to inspire and motivate him to win.
He noted that Bukom Banku tried to intimidate and insult him several times, but he gave him the respect as a senior boxer and decided to punish him in the ring. He teased Bukom Banku that the second part would be very easy.
According to sources close to Box Office Promotions, there is a clause in the fight contract which calls for a rematch in March 2018.
Boxing fans are waiting to see the return of Bukom Banku or the Revenge or Repeat fight next year.
