The Agona West Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education ( NCCE), Mr. Sekyi Sam has expressed grave concern about the nature of construction of infrastructures in the country, which he said, are not easily accessible for people with physical disabilities, such as the physically challenged and the visually impaired According to him, the nature of construction of infrastructures from households to state institutions and roads are evidently clear that the wellbeing of people with disability are always not taken into consideration by the architects who design such facilities. This concern has continuously been raised by many Ghanaians, including people with disability themselves, but all still seem it has always fell on deaf ears. It is a common scene in the country to see people with disability, particularly physically challenged struggling to climb staircases to access an office and visually impaired crossing busy roads where and early passage way could have been created for people with such challenges.
